Good Internet Policy Conference

The Good Internet Policy Conference was held at the University of Sydney from 2-4 October. The conference brought together scholars, policymakers, civic interest groups, platform providers and regulatory bodies to consider the nature of ‘good Internet policy’. Over 60 people attended the conference representing universities from across Australia and around the world.

At the conference, Professor Terry Flew reflected on the conference themes and linked them to work on the IDPO and the next steps which leverage the IDPO, especially in the context of ‘consultation fatigue’. Then Chris Zhao, who is this semester’s intern, gave a demonstration of the operation of the IDPO. Finally, IDPO researcher Dr Rob Nicholls presented a methodological approach using work by IDPO data scientist Justin Miller using one of the data sets.

We have updated the IDPO logo with a clean, modern design which reflects the global, interconnected nature of the IDPO.

We now have it with a transparent background for use in high quality publications.

Introducing the IDPO to Australian Parliamentarians

Our team recently distributed a new brochure to over 300 Federal and State members of parliament introducing the IDPO and outlining how it can assist in the development of policy and governance matters. We have started to receive feedback that these have been received in the MP's offices.
